Goats/Sheep Parasite Management SIPM

June 30, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

45.00

This one-day class on Sustainable Integrated Parasite Management (SIPM) will include learning about: managed grazing, FAMACHA, 5-point checks, fecal egg counts, body condition scoring, condensed tannin feeds, nutritional management, culling/selection and copper-oxide wire particles. Gastrointestinal parasites of sheep and goats are becoming increasingly resistant to currently available commercial de-wormers. Parasite loads reduce performance and may lead to animal death. When infected animals are sold parasites may spread to other pastures.
It is important that producers learn other, more sustainable techniques for managing parasites in their herds and flocks.
Instructors: Susan Schoenian, American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control, and, Angela Boudro, consultant Regenerative Agriculture and Animal Science.
Ask about the SIPM FULL EXPANDED OPTION, 2018, which includes the one-day workshop ($45) along with other benefits for the remainder of 2018. There are a limited number of spots for $270. The regular price is $470 (six-months follow up including SIPM planning and DrenchRite testing).
