New and Young Farmers
Family farming is fundamental to the integrity of our land base, our rural communities and the richness of our culture. By using our electronic clearinghouse, we can ensure success for the next crop of family farmers!
What Can iFarm Oregon Do For You?
Use our online database to search for agricultural land, partnerships, educational opportunities, and financial resources to help you start or expand your business. You can also find listings for internships, mentors and advisers, classes, workshops, technical assistance, loans, and grants.
If you are searching for a place to begin your farming enterprise, download our Landseeker Questionnaire to be enrolled into the program and create an online posting. iFarm Oregon can connect you with farmers and other landowners that would like to see their land in agricultural production.
In addition, our New and Young Farmer Resources section has tools for self-assessing your farm enterprise, business planning workbooks, marketing possibilities, articles and videos on new farmers and farmer blogs from around the state.
How Does the Program Work?
Landowners and new farmers complete a questionnaire describing their goals, situation, attributes and resource needs. Once completed and approved, this information is entered into our online database.
By filling out our Landseeker Questionnaire, you will be enrolled in the program which enables you to develop a post describing what you are looking for, such as land for purchase or lease, apprenticeships or partnership opportunities. You will also have access to others who are participating in the program.
If you see a posting that interests you, please contact Friends of Family Farmers for more information. Each situation is handled individually to align common goals, interests and logistical requirements.
If you have any questions, would like the Landseeker Questionnaire as a Word file, or are seeking more information, please email ifarm@friendsoffamilyfarmers.org or call (503) 622.0161. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
