What a busy week: The ARA, InFARMation (and Beer!)
There are many opportunities to catch up with Friends of Family Farmers this week..
We are starting on Sunday, when the Agricultural Reclamation Act tour travels to Tangent for a community meeting at the Western Star Grange from 6-8pm. From Tangent, we head out to the Gorge on Monday for a meeting in Hood River at the Rockford Grange, also from 6-8pm. Please join this statewide effort to strengthen family farms and make your voices heard.
After a year of InFARMation (and Beer!) events, now you can get involved. Join FoFF on Tuesday at Roots Brewery in Portland from 5:30-8:30 pm as we celebrate a great year of farmer speakers, information, and discussion. We have invited over a dozen of the areas’ non-profits that focus on creating a socially-responsible food system, and they will be bringing volunteer opportunities that YOU can sign up for. Plus, you can share your ideas for what you would like to talk about and learn about next year. Write them down at the event, and/or get up and tell us on the mike. And, just as importantly, there will be music and libations…please come help us celebrate! You can find more info about InFARMation (and Beer!) here.
Wednesday takes the Agricultural Reclamation Act to Cannon Beach for a community meeting at Wild Vines, and then to McMinnville on Thursday for our final meeting of 2009. This is your chance to help us define what the future of agriculture looks like in Oregon.
Find out more and see what we have learned along the way at our blog , or you can follow us on twitter with updates coming in from the road. Directions to each ARA location can be found on our community calendar. Hope to see you there!
